Toby, Tyson & Morgan

This morning Toby came running when he heard the food hit his bowl! He quickly gobbled up his breakfast. It was so nice out this morning, so we went for a nice long walk. When we returned, Morgan was sleeping cozily on a blanket on the couch. I pet Morgan for a little bit while Tyson got his drink from the faucet. This afternoon was gorgeous out, but very windy. Toby and I went out back to play after I got him out of bed. He didn’t like the wind very much and wanted back inside pretty quick. Morgan did his “meh” meow at me and came over for some attention while Toby was busy getting a drink. Toby laid next to me and got a long belly scratch. Then, we tried to go play outside again. This time, he did some exploring. This evening was still very windy and had turned chilly. Toby went out back to do his business. Then, he came in and worked on dinner. He wasn’t too much in the playful mood tonight and would sometimes wander off to the bedroom. I think the sounds of the wind making the house creak were making him nervous. Morgan took advantage of this time and got some attention as he would “meh meh” at me. Later, Toby returned, then he and Morgan discovered a bug to play with!

Luke & Maycie

The kiddos were ready to go outside when I arrived this evening. Maycie was just bouncing up and down! As soon as we got outside, Luke began to cry to me to play fetch. I asked him where his ball was and he just stared and wagged his tail. Eventually he raced off into the darkness and returned with a football! I was going to throw it for him, but oddly enough, he didn’t want to share this ball! Maycie spent some time hopping into my lap for attention. Later, she and Luke chased around the yard together. She wanted to play with the football too! They had fun running around until it was time to head back inside.

Toby, Tyson & Morgan

This afternoon I found Toby all cozy in bed. I attacked him with kisses and hugs and he went crazy, his tail wagging all over the place. We went outside for a bit and he ran around like a bullet, just burning energy. He came back over by me when he was ready to go inside. I said hello to Morgan and Tyson after I gave Toby his treat. This evening Morgan met me at the door for a few scratches. Tyson walked ahead of me into the kitchen and hopped up for a drink. While I was in there I filled Toby’s bowl for supper. He still hadn’t emerged, so I went to get him from the bedroom. He came running out and ate his supper. We headed outside for him to do his business. While I stood out there, I noticed a bird sitting on the trellis, watching me! I got up super close and got a picture of it before it decided to take off. Toby and I headed back in to play. We raced and chased each other around the living room for a long time! Later we got out his kitty and played some fetch with that until he pooped out.

Buckley, Chloe, Tizzy, JR & Bootsie

Bootsie meowed hello this afternoon as I let the pups out. Buck stopped next to me for a quick pet before he joined the others in the laps around the yard. Later, he curled up with a toy to play with for awhile. The girls came running over together for some attention. Buck saw that and decided to join them. He buried his face in my legs while he got a back scratch. He sat right in front of me as if to claim me. The gang came racing back, jumping over me and wrestling around with each other. JR and Buck had fun and wrestled for quite awhile. We headed in a few minutes early since it was getting chilly with the wind picking up. Chloe sat in her chair and looked out the window, while Tizzy picked out a bed to snuggle up on. We could hear Bootsie meowing to us from the bedroom.

Sarge

This afternoon Sarge flew out of his kennel and followed me to the backdoor. We headed outside and he was all of the sudden bursting with energy. He was running around, back and forth, jumping up and down. It was so funny! Then he started rolling around in the grass. I finally got him to calm down so he would take care of business. We went back inside and he cuddled with me for a little bit in the laundry room after getting a quick drink. Then when it was time for me to go, he did not want to go back to bed. He was having too much fun. So finally I had to carry him to his bed, which was not as easy as last time because he’s growing so fast!

Buckley, Chloe, Tizzy, JR & Bootsie

The kids went racing out of their room this afternoon. Tizzy was flying up and over the back of the couch and everyone was barking and bouncing around excitedly. After they ran their laps, they ran to the front of the yard. I went over to see what they were all so interested in. They were watching squirrels and birds in the trees on the other side of the fence! JR kept pawing at the fence like it was going to open for him that way. Eventually, they heard the neighbor dog out back and all went racing to say hi. When we headed back inside, Bootsie was snuggled up on his doggie bed again.

Miranda

Miranda was perched on the couch today, wide awake when I showed up. She quickly hopped off the couch to come and give me a big hug. We headed outside and she grabbed her frizbee immediately. She carried it around the whole time. It was so funny because it was folded in half like an omelette. I threw it for her a few times until she stopped giving it to me.

Buckley, Chloe, Tizzy, JR & Bootsie

This afternoon Bootsie was hiding safely as the pups raced out to the back door. They all zoomed out in a pack to their tree by the trailer. They ran back and forth from one end of the yard to the other. Since it was chilly today with the strong wind, we played inside for awhile. JR sat with me on the couch and did Buck’s move, pawing at me whenever I would stop petting him! Chloe jumped up in my lap and JR crawled over my shoulders, then they both got my face with kisses. Chloe had disappeared down the hallway and returned with a Christmas squeaky toy. After we all had warmed up awhile, we headed back outside to play some more. We came in to find Bootsie had claimed one of the doggie beds as his own. He must have been comfy, because he didn’t move a muscle as the dogs came racing in!

Miranda

pMiranda was a sleepy girl when I arrived this afternoon. She was all bundled up on the couch. She woke up when she saw me and ran to say hello. She grabbed her red nylabone then we headed outside. She walked around for a bit until she found the right spot to do her business, then after that I threw her bone for her a few times. Then we went back inside so I could give her a nice belly rub. /p

Frankie

Frankie was hiding on the other side of the couch when I arrived this evening. I called out her name and she came trotting out to say hello. She heard me say the word ‘outside’ and within seconds she was sitting at the door, ready for me to put on her leash. We went outside and I took her to a quiet spot where there wouldn’t be any other dogs so she wouldn’t be distracted. The grass was wet from the rain, but she didn’t mind one bit. Once she was done, we headed back upstairs. She sat perfectly still for me and lifted her paws one by one so I could dry them off. Then she got a treat for such good behavior. After that, she sat next to me so I could scratch her back in exchange for kisses.
