Owner/Pet Sitter
My name is Jennifer Schneider. Pets of all shapes and sizes have been around me all my life, as my family shares the same passion and love for animals that I do. I have owned and/or cared for almost every different kind of pet you can think of, large and small! I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR and also am continuing my education into Dog Training. Growing up I’ve had dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, iguanas, turtles, saltwater fish, etc. just to name a few! As a child, I spent most of my time outdoors, finding all sorts of critters to bring home. I was the type of kid that tried to rescue everything by bringing it home and attempting to nurse it back to health.
When I was younger, I spent many days of my childhood on the inside of our family-owned pet store. I was living every kid’s dream of being able to play with and help take care of all different kinds of animals every day! Of course, I wanted to keep them all. Later on in life, I went to work at a nearby Veterinary Clinic for about 7 years and I became a Certified Veterinary Assistant. During my work there and now as a pet sitter, I have found that almost all pets that are timid or who don’t do well with strangers seem to attract to me and form a bond with me very quickly. The vet I worked for would jokingly call me the “Pet Whisperer”, because I was somehow able to calm many nervous pets. I will never forget this one sassy husky, Smiley. He didn’t like most of the employees, but for whatever reason, he loved me! One day his owner brought him in because he had his wire collar twisted and lodged tightly around his jaw. He got away from his owner, and that silly dog ran through the clinic until he found me! I was sitting in a break room eating my lunch. He came in, sat next to me and just rested his poor face on my lap. I then held him through his whole procedure to keep him calm.
As you can see, animals have and always will, hold a special place in my heart. They have always been a part of the family to me. I have been on both sides, taking care of other people’s furkids working at a kennel and vet clinic, and being the owner searching for someone I can trust to watch my own, who will give them the love and attention they deserve. You can rest assured that your pets are in experienced, safe and loving hands!
